Pain-Free Guitar Playing? What's the catch?

Early on in my music career I remember being shocked by a common object that kept showing up among guitarists - the wrist brace!

"What's up with that?" My twenty-something self would ask.

The reply was always the same, "wait til you're my age."

The funny thing was that these guys weren't that old - forties and fifties!

As I approached my forties I began to notice pain creeping into my hands and wrists as well.

Geez, I thought.

If I'm in pain at this age what will that look like when I hit 60, 70 and 80?

So I began looking for chord shapes and scales that didn't send lightning up my arm. And it turns out... there's a pain-free way to play the guitar.

It has to do with the type of guitar you play.

It has to do with the way you tune it.

It has to do with your approach from the beginning.

If you want to know how you can play pain-free come check out this video I made as a sort of Cliff Notes version of what makes our method truly one-of-a-kind and gets you playing the guitar faster and easier than anything else out there.

We're in our pre-enrollment phase for January's Closet Rockstars Course. It's gonna be awesome, but spots are limited. Treat yourself or a loved one to some sweet guitar vibes this Christmas and get your New Year off to a fun start!

He was called "god" at 25. His greatest work came at 46.
There's a version of Eric Clapton's story that most people know. The prodigy. The legend. The man whose fans spray-painted "Clapton is god" on the walls of London Underground stations in the 1960s when he was barely in his mid-twenties. The guitarist who played on Beatles records, formed Cream, wrote Layla, and became the only musician ever inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three sep...
The guitar in the closet
There's a particular kind of person I love working with. They've done everything right. Built a career over 35 years that most people would envy. Retired with financial security, the freedom to travel, maybe a sports car in the driveway and a pilot's license to boot. By every conventional measure, they've won. And yet there's still one thing sitting in the closet... or the corner of the spare b...
What does B-ball have to do with playing the Guitar after 60?
It's March in 'Merica thus no one escapes the NCAA B-ball Tournament known as March Madness.Ā  A lot of times we label ourselves as "jocks" or "musicians" or "you-name-it". But the reality is that we are more than our labels and a good game can be enjoyed by a good guitarist and vice versa.Ā  Take last night's game for instance.Ā  #2 seed UConn against #1 seed Duke. Ā  Most of the country had Duke ...
